James Gué will be carrying over his 2009 KONI Challenge success to the 2010 Rolex At Daytona by joining team Dempsey Racing. James Gué finished off his 2009 racing season with a win at the Grand-Am Koni Challenge Series at the Virginia International Raceway. He will now kick start the 2010 season by competing in the Rolex 24 At Daytona race. Though James Gué could only finish in the 12th place due to engine problems in his previous attempt at the Rolex 24 At Daytona GT class race, he intends to give a stronger performance this year. James Gué has made his intentions clear of taking up the challenge of competing full time in the Rolex GT class.
The addition of James Gué to Dempsey Racing came due to the expansion of the team to a two car team for the 24 hour race. The familiar No. 40 Mazda RX-8 from Dempsey Racing will be seen on the tracks accompanied by the newly included No. 41 Mazda RX-8 GT. The brand-new No. 41 is set to debut at the Roar Before the Rolex 24 that is scheduled to be held between January 8 and 10 at the Daytona International Speedway. While Patrick Dempsey and Joe Foster will be taking the wheel of the No. 40 Mazda RX-8, Leh Keen will be giving James Gué company behind the wheel of the No. 41 Mazda RX-8 GT. Giving the four drivers company in team Dempsey Racing will be Don Kitch Jr and Dave Lacey.
Team owner Patrick Dempsey stated he was pleased to be able to expand his team in a way that would benefit both the Seattle Children’s Hospital and the Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing in Maine. He was also very pleased at the fact that James Gué would be teaming up with Leh Keen, the current GT-class champion, which meant that the team 
would have two Mazda RX-8s running up front. He also expressed his joy of introducing the new program to Dempsey Racing. The preparations and teamwork of Dempsey Racing will be on display at the Roar Before the Rolex 24 for the fans to get a preview.
The Rolex 24 At Daytona is said to be one of the toughest endurance races in the world. The drivers competing for a podium finish would not only have to display their driving skills and speed, but also consistence, as the race goes on for 24 hours. The drivers have to learn to relax in short intervals and switch off the adrenalin rush as they catch short naps between their stints on the track. The 24 hours at the Daytona International Raceway are not only trying for the drivers but also for the entire team along with the engine and tires. James Gué has a terrific racing résumé to his credit which includes two consecutive second position finishes in the KONI Sports Car Challenge. James Gué’s association with racing goes a long way as his parents owned Essex Racing for more than 3 decades. Off the tracks James Gué also works as a driving instructor for Porsche, Mazda, Cadillac and Saab programs along with various teen driving schools.
